Welcome to the Basil Lab!

Our Scientific Focus

  1. Untangling the molecular mechanisms that govern stem and progenitor cell fate and function

  2. Understanding the programs that are important in human lung development, and how these are disrupted in lung injury, repair, and regeneration

  3. Dissecting transcriptional regulation of progenitor cells in human lung in health and disease

  4. Creating new ways to study human molecular biology in the lung and beyond

Our Key Principles

  1. Improving the lives of patients with lung disease

  2. Training the next generation of physicians and scientists while making science and discovery more equitable and inclusive

  3. Having fun while doing all the above

If that sounds like the kind of environment you'd like to work in, we welcome you to check out our areas of research, meet the members of our team, and contact us!
