Outings

Some Photos from Basil Lab Adventures!

Will Dim Sum solve our problems? After a stressful week in lab, we decided to do the experiment. Turns out it just might... :) (March 2025) (Also we forgot to take a picture at our Holiday Party so we had to make up with a smaller group photo)

Ana's going away party ... lots of celebrating, lots of laughter, lots of snacks and cake, and some (happy) tears. We know she will be back to visit us soon!
(May 2024)

Various times the basil lab had dinners or brunches together
The folks in the Basil lab love a good Sunday brunch (left, Andrew, Ana and Mijeong out to brunch!), but are always up for a lunch break (center, Mijeong and Dom grabbing lunch), and chicken dinner with experimental designs on paper bags! (right, Dom and Ana planing the future of lung biology over chicken and fries!)
(April and May of 2024 - nice weather and fried chicken season)

Ana and Mijeong travel to visit our collaborators in Iowa, and while they were there Ana's grandma made sure they had a hearty breakfast before a day of exciting science!
(March 2024, the era of the ferrets)

The annual Basil lab holiday party is in February to give everyone something to look forward to after the New Year!
(Feb 2024 - Pre-party with Ana's pup and lab dinner at Dandelion - thanks to the various SO's for photography!)

What's pink and sparkly and celebrating a birthday with her favorite people? This PI!
(Maria's Birthday Surprise Party 2024!)

Sometimes we fly to another state on a VERY small airplane to visit ferrets!
(September 2023, or the time of the BBQ)
Maria and Ana hiking at the Gordon Lung Conference in 2023 and the Basil and Morrisey Lab Ladies in Rompers. IYKYK.
(Gordon Lung Conference in 2023 - Maria may have chaired a session and made all the speakers announce their favorite Taylor or Beyonce song. You'll have to come to the next one to find out!)

Welcome to the lab, Andrew! Want to climb on a rope course?... blindfolded!?!
(Morrisey and Basil labs joint outing at a local ropes course on Andrew's first day in the lab - July 2023)

The Amazing Ana presenting her posted on progenitor cell fate to a captive audience at the Department of Medicine Research Day!
(June 2023, pre lab existence on paper but not in our hearts)
