Things to Do

Philadelphia is a city known for its artistic flair, culture, and of course, the Philly cheesesteak!  With this, there are many sites and scenes to check out while visiting our beautiful city. We have highlighted a few city-wide events taking place during our meeting dates below. City-Wide Events

The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival
May 1 - June 30, 2019
Franklin Square 

The annual Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival illuminates Franklin Square with thousands of LED lights strewn across displays of handcrafted lanterns by lantern artisans from China. Each year the festival draws over 100,000 people from all over the U.S. and various countries. This year's festival will feature 29 new lanterns made of LED lights and silks, as well as a 200-foot-long phoenix!

 

Philly Beer Week
May 31 - June 9, 2019
Various Locations

Brewers in Philadelphia have been crafting beer for more than 300 years. The 12th annual Philly Beer Week celebrates Philadelphia's thriving beer culture and features events such as tastings, lectures, beer-pairing dinners and more!

Museums, Tours, and More!

The best way to see all the sites and attractions in Philadelphia is to hop on a Big Bus Tour. These London-style double-decker buses will take you on a 90-minute "hop on, hop off" tour stopping at 25 key attraction spots around the city including the National Constitution Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Penn's Landing. Tours are available in multiple languages.

University City:

The conference site and hotel are in the University City District, which maintains a neighborhood guide on restaurants, bars, and arts and culture.

Excursions:

Excursions from Philadelphia include Valley Forge, Atlantic City (accessible by train from 30th Street Station), New York City (accessible by Megabus, Bolt Bus,  or Amtrak), and Washington DC (accessible by Megabus, Bolt Bus, or Amtrak).
