BIO STATEMENT

Dr. Chudy-Onwugaje is a gastroenterologist who recently completed advanced endoscopy training at HUP. His interests lie in the advancement of global digestive health equity and are particularly focused on expanding access to gastrointestinal endoscopy in sub-Saharan Africa. He is the co-investigator of a project supported by the University of Maryland President’s Global Impact Fund to strengthen gastroenterology training in Rwanda.

He completed an MPH degree with a concentration in Global Health and interned at the Global Health programme at Chatham House, London. During his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Maryland, he was supported by a T32 grant from the NIH

RECENT GLOBAL HEALTH PROJECTS

In collaboration with the Rwandan Society for Endoscopy and an inter-professional group of practitioners, Dr. Chudy-Onwugaje has been involved in supporting the growth of gastroenterology in Rwanda through education, hands-on endoscopic training, patient care, and research.
