Bio statement

I am a second generation Bangladeshi-American, born in the US but with close ties in Dhaka, Bangladesh where I have paired with Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in a teaching endeavor in the area of Critical Care Ultrasound and curriculum development. My current role at HUP is not only in the area of clinical activities in Critical Care but also the role of faculty instructor in the area of Critical Care Ultrasound.

Gallup Indian medical Center  (MedGlobal)

  • tele-consultation for Pulmonary and Critical Care Cases
  • Monthly lectures for Critical Care topics 

White River Apache Reservation (American Heart Association + Cincinatti Children's + IHS )

  • Point of Care Ultrasound training course for clinicians and non-clinicians, primarily focused on cardiac ultrasound and valvular disease 

Bangladesh

Cox's Bazaar MedGlobal Health Post in Rohingya Refugee Camp (MedGlobal)

  • Mission POCUS- focused module for three clinicians on Lung ultrasound given prevalence of respiratory distress and inability to obtain chest x-rays in the remote clinic, funded by Pocus Certification Academy 

Cox's Bazaar MedGlobal Birthing Center (MedGlobal

  • Basic Life Support in Obstetrics and Helping Babies Breathe Train-The-Trainer Course- training midwives in basic life support in obstetric emergencies and essential newborn care

Rural Bangladesh Tech Hub Project (MedGlobal)

  • Needs Survey and Focused group discussions conducted with women in two rural villages to obtain baseline information on gaps in knowledge of women's health issues. Currently in the process of designing the public health outreach intervention arm of this project which will utilize the data collected initially to guide 

Dhaka Bangladesh Emergency Medicine Certification Program (Penn- affiliated, with Penn EM Global Health Group led by Dr. Megan Rybarczyk)

  • Faculty and consultant for Certification Program in Emergency Medicine Program which is currently being conducted with Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Indus Hospital in Pakistan

Al Mukallah at Hadramout University Hospital and Ibn Sina Hospital (MedGlobal + Bridge to Health Global) 

  • Large grant-funded project to implement remote training in Point of Care Ultrasound in the areas of Lung, Trauma and Obstetric ultrasound 

 

Yemen- Sayoun and Aden

  • Ongoing Critical Care and point-of-care ultrasound training for previously trained trainees from the initial in-person course in November 2019 

Peru

  • Yamamono Clinic in the Amazon (Bridge to Health Global)- implementing a point of care ultrasound course to identify patients who are high risk to develop Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever
