PENN’S WAY 2025
Penn’s Way 2025 invites giving “from the heart” to local causes. Penn and Penn Medicine match gifts up to $2,500, doubling impact. CGH highlights local partners—AFAHO, Puentes de Salud, Broad Street Love, SHARE Food, and FAME—linking local service with global health.
Local Giving, Global Impact
Penn’s Way is the workplace giving campaign which runs annually from October 1 through November 21.
This year, the theme is “Going the Distance for Our Community,” which as President Jameson put, "encourages us to give with our hearts and invest in the causes that benefit the places where we work and call home."
Donate to any local participating charity through Penn’s Way, and Penn and Penn Medicine will 100% match your gift of up to $2,500.
Use the Penn’s Way portal to record and double your contribution until the end of the drive on Friday, November 21.
Last year, employees donated more than $2.6 million. The dollar-for-dollar match totaled over $5.2 million in total support.
We at the Center for Global Health ask you to support our local partners in your giving this year:
-
African Family Health Organization (AFAHO)
In partnership with AFAHO and its African Health Clinic, Penn faculty and students support efforts to expand culturally responsive care for African and Caribbean immigrants. Our collaboration also connects AFAHO with volunteers who assist at health fairs through interpretation and clinical services. -
Puentes de Salud
Our partnership with Puentes de Salud engages globally minded students in meaningful service and mentorship opportunities. Together, we help strengthen health, education, and wellness initiatives for Philadelphia’s Latinx immigrant community. -
Broad Street Love (formerly Broad Street Ministry)
Broad Street Love has generously partnered with us by welcoming our Summer Visiting Fellows and providing insight into their comprehensive services. Their work addressing meals, clothing, hygiene, and connections to health and housing resources highlights how partnerships can fill critical gaps in care for Philadelphians experiencing deep poverty. -
SHARE Food Program
Through our partnership with the Share Food Program, Summer Visiting Fellows learn about the scope of food insecurity in Philadelphia and across the U.S. Share Food showcases how coordinated community efforts—distributing millions of pounds of food, supporting schools and senior centers, and raising awareness—combat hunger and promote equitable food access. -
Foundation for African Medicine and Education (FAME) - Tanzania
CGH Scholar and PSOM Dept of Neurology faculty, Michael N. Rubenstein, MD, serves as board chair for FAME and supervises HUP and CHOP residents at FAME biannually for global health clinical rotations. Working with FAME’s Tanzanian medical team, Dr. Rubenstein and the residents provide neurological care to nearby Karatu communities as well as neurology-focused mobile outreach to reach more rural communities.
