Researcher at CAROT.

Mikhail received his Master degree in Biophysics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Moscow, Russia), and PhD in Microbiology from the State Research Center for Applied Microbiology (Obolensk, Russia). Before joining Dr. Ashtari's group, Mikhail studied retinal neurophysiology at Oregon Health and Science University, University of Pennsylvania, and Colorado State University. His current scientific interests include the development of visual aids for maximum utilization of the remaining visual capabilities in visually impaired patients, and visual plasticity during a long-term visual impairment and after the restoration of vision by the means of gene therapy.
