Bio

Corinde E. Wiers, PhD is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Psychology from the Berlin School of Mind and Brain and Freie Universität Berlin and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the NIH/NIAAA in Bethesda MD under mentorship of Dr. Nora Volkow. Her research focuses on neurocognitive underpinnings of substance use disorders using PET and MRI. She currently investigates the effects of metabolic ketosis on brain energetics, alcohol withdrawal and consumption in alcohol use disorder.
