Bio

Dr. Kyra Feuer is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry who is passionate about multi-disciplinary approaches to mental illness research.  Her dissertation focused on functional investigation of noncoding schizophrenia-associated genetic variants using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, stem cell and neuron models, and transcriptome analysis. In January 2024, Dr. Feuer was awarded the Penn T32 Postdoctoral Training Grant in Genomic Medicine, which she is utilizing to gain additional skills in bioinformatic analyses, machine learning, and natural language processing. Her current research is focused on combining electronic health record data, genetic information, and machine learning to improve the accuracy and timing of diagnosis and identify new therapeutic targets for psychiatric conditions in diverse populations.

Education
