The 2018 Penn’s Way campaign officially drew to a close on November 10, and we are proud to announce that this year’s effort raised nearly $1.8 million – including a record $1.1 million through the generosity of Penn Medicine employees – to support the crucial work of charitable organizations and community service initiatives throughout our region. With 82 percent overall participation (an impressive increase over 77 percent last year), we exceeded both our participation and financial goals for this year’s campaign.

We extend our most sincere thanks to everyone in the Penn Medicine community who participated in the campaign this year. Together with our colleagues across the University, Penn’s Way represents a remarkable team endeavor which makes a tremendous impact on communities in need across the regions we serve. Thanks to your contributions, nearly $400,000 in donations will support programs led by Penn Medicine, such as the Safe Sleep Sack Initiative, pharmacy assistance programs, and the Hall-Mercer Community Behavioral Health Center.

As another record-breaking campaign comes to an end, we especially thank our campaign leads Pat Sullivan and Maureen Rush, and campaign managers Franklin Owusu, Nichole Howard, Nicole Kummerer, Alissa Nulsen, and Lisa Paxton for all their hard work and dedication to promoting the campaign and encouraging participation in countless ways.

We are grateful to be part of a community with such an inspiring spirit of giving, reflected not only through Penn’s Way but in your work each day across our organization. Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!
