Announcing a New Wharton-Penn Medicine Executive Health Care Leadership Program

October 30, 2018

To My Penn Medicine Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Wharton to offer an executive education program designed for leaders in health care and academic medicine.

Leadership in a New Era of Health Care is intended to equip physicians, nurses, scientists and executives with the skills they need to drive change in their organizations.

As you are aware, health care leaders today need a broad skill set.  They must be strong negotiators, keen students of business, and have the emotional intelligence necessary to lead diverse teams. Empowered with these skills, visionary leaders can leverage new discoveries and technologies to provide exceptional patient-centric care, while assuring that their institutions continue to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing scientific and health care environment.

Beginning with its first four-day course in March 2019, Leadership in a New Era of Health Care will be led by Wharton and Penn Medicine faculty and provide participants with targeted leadership development experience and practical skills.  Areas of focus include organizational and cultural change, negotiation and conflict resolution, relationship management, coalition-building, communication, and strategic decision-making.

I hope you will take advantage of this new leadership development opportunity.  To foster participation, Penn Faculty can receive a 50% discount.  For more information, visit WhartonPennMedLeadership.com, or contact Caryn Lerman Ph.D. at clerman@upenn.edu.

With best regards,
