CFAR

The Penn Center for AIDS Research (Penn CFAR) is one of 19 NIH-funded CFARs and includes HIV and AIDS investigators at the University of Pennsylvania, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the Wistar Institute.

The mission is to support and advance research in all areas of HIV/AIDS on the Penn/CHOP/Wistar campus and in the Philadelphia region by:

  • catalyzing innovative collaborative AIDS research through working groups, outreach, partnerships on campus, regionally, and internationally
  • providing education through seminars, courses, and workshops
  • developing new HIV/AIDS investigators and research programs through pilot funding, mentorship, and partnership programs
  • providing cutting-edge research support through innovative shared resource cores that offer unique services, materials, technical education and assistance, and collaborative support
  • providing strategic planning on campus with campus, regional, and national HIV/AIDS research leadership

PMHARC

The Mission of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) of the Penn Mental Health AIDS Research Center (PMHARC) is to promote the mental health of people living with HIV infection and AIDS through research, evidence based treatments, and education.  The CAB will foster communications and partnerships among affected individuals, advocacy and provider organizations and researchers, and will help guide the PMHARC research agenda.

CRISPR for Cure

With corporate partnership and robust community engagement, the mission of CRISPR for Cure is to use genome editing
by CRISPR to enhance immune responses and directly eliminate HIV.

BEAT-HIV

The Delaney Collaboratory to Cure HIV-1 Infection by Combination Immunotherapy (BEAT-HIV Collaboratory) is a consortium of more than 95 top HIV researchers from leading academic research institutions working with government, nonprofit organizations, and industry partners to gain a better understanding of HIV latent reservoirs and host factors governing viral control and reactivation through which long-term remission or eradication of HIV will be achieved by combination immunotherapy inclusive of bNAbs, adoptively transferred immune cells, novel latency reversing agents, and nanoparticle therapies.

CTU 

The mission of the Clinical Trials Unit Community Advisory Board (CTU CAB) is to provide community input into the operations of the AIDS Clinical Trials Units.
