Web-Based CBT Training

Our Web-Based Training
The Penn Collaborative offers a comprehensive web-based training (WBT) in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, providing the equivalent of a graduate-level intensive course from internationally-recognized experts. This training is accessible asynchronously from anywhere in the world and is based on a flexible, case-conceptualization driven approach.

Our training has several empirically-established advantages:

  • Proven Effectiveness: Learners demonstrate levels of CBT competence similar to clinicians in randomized controlled trials—a result that is nearly unprecedented in the empirical literature.
  • Efficient and Accessible: It is as effective as in-person training but requires fewer resources, like lost billable hours and travel.
  • Sustained Learning: The training can be accessed repeatedly, supporting consistency in training standards and long-term skill retention.

Our case conceptualization-driven approach to CBT champions flexibility and creativity, allowing you to tailor therapy for each unique individual. This powerful method will enable you to deeply understand and connect with clients, guiding your selection of interventions to facilitate meaningful change with a culturally-response stance.

Training Pathways
The web-based training is available through two distinct pathways.

For Organizations & Systems
For organizations with a training contract with the Penn Collaborative, access to the web-based training is typically provided as a core part of our sustainability services. This can help you expand capacity beyond your initial training cohort and ensure new clinicians have the knowledge they need. Interested in learning more about organizational training? Click here.

For Individuals
Clinicians and supervisors can also gain access to our research-backed web-based training for a modest fee. Individuals who complete the program and pass the final knowledge check are eligible to receive 22 CEUs from the American Psychological Association (APA). Click here to learn more and register!
