Overview & Requirements
You may enter the Primary Care Pathway Program in your first (MS1), second (MS2) or third (MS3) year as a student at the Perelman School of Medicine. Regardless of the year you enter, you will be required to complete the following:
- Pre-clerkship longitudinal patient care experience (PLACE)*
- Community Engagement Experience
- Primary Care Externship: 4-week block or longitudinal experience (PRACTICE = Primary Recurrent Ambulatory Clinic To Improve Contintuity Care Experience)
- Primary Care Electives: 4 weeks for students who completed PLACE; 8 weeks for students who did not complete PLACE
- Research or scholarship project in Primary Care
- Advanced Workshops in Primary Care
*Required for those who join the Pathway Program as MS1 or MS2 students
