Research & Scholarship

Pathway students are required to participate in research focused on primary care. Students may choose topics such as:

• Population health management
• Health systems science
• Health Equity and Advocacy
• Quality improvement
• Primary Care Clinical Operations

Stipend-supported research opportunities are available during the summer between the first and second years of medical school. Students may use their scholarly pursuit research to fulfill the Pathways research requirement, if it is focused on primary care and occurs after Core 2. PSOM students can access a curated list of Primary Care researchers interested in working with students on scholarly projects.
