         RSVP for 2017 Event  

The Clinical Research Coordinator Annual Recognition of Excellence award was launched in 2009 as a Perelman School of Medicine award that was created by the Penn Society of Clinical Research Coordination and Management (SCRCM), in collaboration with and under the administration of the Office of Clinical Research, to promote and advance the profession of clinical research coordination and management. Starting in 2014, the CARE award was expanded into three awards to better recognize different stages within the lifespan of a clinical research professional and to demonstrate an appreciation for the complexity of the clinical research field. The awards are presented to a clinical research coordinator, clinical research nurse, or clinical research manager who best exemplifies excellence in the knowledge, skills and values of the profession.

The three Annual Recognition of Excellence Awards or C.A.R.E Awards are:

Clinical research support staff members who have at least 2 years of clinical research experience are eligible to be nominated for this award. The award recognizes individuals who have who have demonstrated initiative, motivation, maturity, professionalism and attention to detail in the pursuit of their responsibilities.  Additionally this person should have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills that are likely to lead to a successful career within the Penn clinical research community.

The Leading Edge in Clinical Research Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the spirit of ingenuity and inventiveness within clinical research through adaptation, enhancement, and development of new processes /approaches that result in improvement to the clinical research execution. This person has demonstrated the ability to consistently approach research with creativity and zeal, shown a willingness to assume additional responsibilities / roles and has demonstrated an impressive body of clinical and regulatory research skills. 

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a clinical research professional who during their lifetime at Penn has made consistently superior contributions of outstanding significance to the field of clinical research at the University of Pennsylvania.  This award recognizes that the scope of clinical research is diverse and requires the input and effort of a wide variety of individuals.  The awardee will have demonstrated tremendous experience in the clinical, regulatory and/or financial aspects of the clinical research profession and has contributed to training the next generation of clinical research professionals.

RSVP for the 2017

All Clinical Research Coordinators and Project Managers are invited to attend the Clinical Research Annual Recognition Event scheduled for June 15, 2017 from 11:45 am - 2:00 pm in the Biomedical Research Building (BRB) Auditorium.

After the ceremony there will be networking time during the luncheon. Due to space constraints, this invitation is limited to the first 200 RSVPs!

Nomination Process:

Nominations can be made by any faculty or staff of the University of Pennsylvania community including Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, coordinators, research teams, and Department and Division administration and staff. The Clinical Research C.A.R.E. Award Committee reviews all submitted nominations and associated letters of support to make the final determination of award recipients. The Award Selection Committee is comprised of faculty, research coordinators, and representatives from Penn Medicine and University research administrative offices.

A potential award recipient may only be nominated in one category. Letters of support should reflect the unique criteria outlined in each award description.

All nominations must be received by 5:00pm on April 28th, 2017 to be considered for this award. The 2017 recipient will be announced at the Annual Recognition Event for the Society of Clinical Research Coordination and Management on June 15, 2017.                                                                                        Top

Eligibility Requirements:

In order for the nominees to be evaluated by the appointed selection committee, they must meet all of the following criteria:

    

 1.

Nominees must work full time and have direct subject/patient interaction. (Except for the Lifetime Achievement Award)

    

  2.

Nominees must be in their current role for a minimum of 2 years.

    

 3.

Nominees must not be a previous recipient of the CR C.A.R.E. Award.

 

  4.

Nominees must have a current Penn CR certification.

 

  5.

Nominees must have a completed online nomination form.

 

  6.

Nominees must receive two letters of support for their nomination
