Specialized Lab Equipment and Services

Our lab has dedicated areas for mouse dissection, molecular biology, high-resolution imaging, and survival surgeries. Some of our equipment and specialized services are highlighted below:

Zeiss Axio Observer 7

Our newly acquired Zeiss wide field scope allows for rapid, whole-slide brightfield and fluorescence imaging at a high resolution.

Zeiss 3i VIVO Intravital Imaging System

This state-of-the-art intravital imaging system allows for imaging in live animals

Mouse Survival Surgery

We perform brain and cardiac surgeries on live mice to study the pathogenesis of cerebral cavernous malformations, myocardial infarctions, and heart valve disease.

Ultrasound Imaging

We work with the CVI Mouse Cardiovascular Phenotyping Core and Small Animal Imaging Facility to perform in utero imaging and echocardiography with Doppler with functional measurements for clinical correlation and hemodynamic function.

Histology Services

The Histology and Gene Expression Co-Op contains dedicated staff who are experts in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
