PCGI Annual Scientific Retreat
The Penn Center for Genome Integrity (PCGI) held its Annual Scientific Retreat on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, PA from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. This day-long retreat consisted of scientific trainee talks, roundtable discussions on entrepreneurship by commercializing academic discoveries, landing an academic faculty position, and grant writing, with lunch, a poster session, and other fun activities.
The day was highlighted by Keynote speakers Drs. Don W. Cleveland (University of California, San Diego), and Xue Sherry Gao (PSOM Dept. of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering). Events culminated in an outdoor reception in the museum courtyard. We were delighted to have the opportunity to bring together the dozens of PCGI labs working across our sprawling campus to share ongoing research in a relaxed setting, and hope this event has sparked new ideas for innovation and collaboration.
Congratulations to our poster award winners! Sam Chauvin won first place, Haoyang Jiang and Tao Shi tied for second, and last but not least, Alişya Anlaş was in third place.
