Description of Clinical Expertise
36c Dr. Aberra is a clinician educator with a clinical and research focus in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Her research includes clinical trials for medical therapeutics and epidemiologic studies. She has been an Associate Editor for the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases journal. She has also been involved in patient education locally and nationally, serving as National Co-Chair for the Patient Education Committee for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. She is Co-Director for Transition-Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, Joint-CHOP-Penn and the GI EPIC Director. Prior to joining Penn faculty in 2003, Dr. Aberra received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Swarthmore College and medical degree from Dartmouth. She completed her internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and MS in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania1a 29
