Extension of Deadline: CFAR Pilot Grant Competition
Pilot grant applications are now due by November 15th, 2024 to be considered for this year’s cycle.
However, we are requiring that a Letter of Intent be submitted by October 31, 2024 for all planned submissions.
The Letters of Intent (LOI) will allow us to begin planning for a rapid review of applications at the time of the new deadline.
LOI’s should include:
- A brief synopsis of the planned project, including planned methodology and target population(s)
- Names and affiliations of all investigators and collaborators
LOI’s should be submitted to Cherylann McGee: mcgeec3@chop.edu
Any questions can be addressed to: lowenthale@chop.edu
The Penn Center for AIDS Research (Penn CFAR) is now accepting Pilot Grant applications in a special pilot initiative with joint funding from the Penn Institute for RNA Innovation:
- Applying modified RNA technology to HIV research with joint funding from the Penn Institute for RNA Innovation
Note: The CFAR/RNA Institute Special Pilot Initiative is open to all investigators, including those who have been previously funded in the AIDS field. If previously R01-level funded in AIDS, proposals must reflect a major new research direction involving applications of modified RNA technology.
Amount: Awards are for a maximum of $50,000 per grant, but a single grant of up to $100,000 may be awarded for an exceptional mRNA-based project if well-justified.
Letter of Intent Deadline: October 31, 2024
Application Deadline: November 15, 2024
Funding release expected: May 1, 2025
