Extension of Deadline: CFAR Pilot Grant Competition
Pilot grant applications are now due by November 15th, 2024 to be considered for this year’s cycle.
However, we are requiring that a Letter of Intent be submitted by October 31, 2024 for all planned submissions.
The Letters of Intent (LOI) will allow us to begin planning for a rapid review of applications at the time of the new deadline.
LOI’s should include:
- A brief synopsis of the planned project, including planned methodology and target population(s)
- Names and affiliations of all investigators and collaborators
LOI’s should be submitted to Cherylann McGee: mcgeec3@chop.edu
Any questions can be addressed to: lowenthale@chop.edu
The Penn Center for AIDS Research (Penn CFAR) invites Pilot Grant applications in collaboration with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH). Interested applicants should consult with Dr. Kathleen Brady (kathleen.a.brady@phila.gov) Director of PDPH Division of HIV Health. Consultation with the Implementation Science Core is also recommended. PDPH has a broad range of priority topics for collaborative research. Selected examples include:
- Acceptability and uptake of HIV prevention services in mobile buprenorphine sites
- Evaluating the role of harm reduction vending machine implementation on health outcomes
- Development and promotion of non-stigmatizing health messaging for providers
- Acceptability and feasibility of interventions to improve the quality of life in people aging with HIV
- Assessment of structural barriers in HIV prevention and care
Pilot awards are open to investigators without prior R01-level funding in AIDS.
