Apple Zero Day Exploit - August 2022
Apple Zero Day exploit – August 2022
Recently Apple announced a zero-day exploit found in Safari and macOS Monterey. An attacker could exploit code or take remote control of your computer if not patched. Apple recommends patching your Mac as soon as possible.
PMACS Supported Apple computers:
Beginning Monday, August 29th PMACS will begin pushing out a patch for Safari to affected computers. If your computer is affected, you will see a popup on your Mac asking you to click OK to install the patch or defer until the next day. Note: the patch will require Safari to close.
At the same time, PMACS will temporarily increase its nightly patching schedule to ensure all managed Mac computers get both zero-day exploit patches.
Please leave your Mac computer on at night from 8/29 – 9/2 so that all patches are applied. Close any open documents before 11pm each night as your computer may restart.
Note: PMACS recommends that all Mac computers be upgraded to the latest macOS version available for their computer.
