What are the goals of this study?

The Armellino Center of Excellence for Williams Syndrome is studying daily living skills like cooking, cleaning, and money management and their impact on quality of life for individuals with Williams syndrome. This study is led by Ben Yerys, PhD.

Who can be a part of this research study?

  • People with Williams Syndrome between the ages of 14 to 25 years, and their caregivers may be eligible.
  • This study is designed to be accessible to speaking and non-speaking participants and those with or without intellectual disability

What will you be asked to do?

  • Attend 3 in-person study visits, each visit is 12 months apart.
  • Each visit will take about 3 hours.
  • Participants and caregivers will complete questionnaires on attention, daily living skills, and mental health.
  • Participants will also be asked to complete a few short tasks.

What are the benefits of taking part in this research study?

  • Psychological report is available
  • Results of the study may increase our understanding of good strategies for building daily living skills during the transition into adulthood and improving quality of life as an adult.

Will I be paid for taking part in this study?

  • Participants & caregivers will be paid for each visit.
