Description of Research Expertise
The Goodman Lab develops high-throughput and computational approaches to understand and engineer immune cell function, with the goal of creating safer and more effective cellular therapies for cancer and other diseases. We combine synthetic biology, protein engineering, and genome editing with clonal tracking, single-cell genomics, and machine-learning-guided design to map how genetic sequences shape immune signaling and cell fate. Our work aims to overcome key barriers in cellular immunotherapies — efficacy, persistence, and control — and to establish engineered immune cells as a central pillar of medicine.Selected Publications
