Description of Research Expertise

3d Research Informatics/ Clinical Epidemiology:
8
18d Our current work utilizes a large primary care electronic medical record to replicate Randomized Controlled Trials in order to test the validity of observational data. The goals are to determine whether specific characteristics of the studies predict concordance between the Observational study and RCT, and also to determine whether specific analytic techniques can enhance concordance.

14 Nephrology:

122 In the past my laboratory has investigated acid-base and electrolyte regulation, with a significant focus on renal ammonia metabolism. Other major topics have been potassium regulation, the effect of chronic hypoxia on cell biology, and the regulation of endogenous acid production.
