Description of Research Expertise

27e Dr Stallings and her collaborators conduct clinical research in the nutrition-related growth, body composition and dietary abnormalities of infants, children and adolescents with chronic diseases. Studies have included children with cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, cerebral palsy, congenital heart disease, liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, HIV/AIDS, osteoporosis and obesity. In addition, our research group investigated the growth and developmental patterns of healthy children to establish reference standards for nutrition, growth, body composition, bone health and energy expenditure and requirements.
