Description of Research Expertise

I have ongoing collaborations with established investigators in the areas of quality improvement and clinical/ translational research. Current projects include efforts to standardize care of infants with evolving hydrocephalus as well as minimize sedation use in the acquisition of neuroimaging.

Description of Clinical Expertise

My main clinical focus is in care of the brain injured infant. To that end, I have developed with others a multi-disciplinary program with partners from Neurology, Radiology and Neurosurgery to streamline care delivered for these infants in the Neonatal/ Infant Intensive Care Unit. We have begun standing rounds, monthly meetings and case review series to begin this program. In time, we see this as a platform for translating research advances in the care of these children into clinical practice. Within the context of this program we have developed sub-projects in the areas of research and quality improvement with focus on the treatment of evolving hydrocephalus and minimizing sedation in the acquisition of neuroimaging.
