Description of Clinical Expertise

Dr. Jones is an intensivist who serves as an attending physician in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and the Critical Care Outreach and Procedure Service (CCOPS) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical expertise is the management of critical illness including sepsis, shock, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrest.

Description of Research Expertise

Dr. Jones is a physician-epidemiologist who investigates the risk factors for respiratory failure during critical illness with a focus on the determinants of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). She conducts studies that apply her knowledge in pulmonary and critical care medicine, clinical epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, and public health. The purpose of her research is to identify novel genetic determinants of ARDS to elucidate the underlying biology, identify new targets for disease-specific pharmacotherapy, and advance a precision medicine paradigm for treatment of critical illness.
