Description of Clinical Expertise
Dr. Nabavizadeh is primarily an adult neuroradiologist with additional training in pediatric neuroradiology and nuclear radiology. He specializes in using neuroimaging to diagnose various diseases of the central nervous system.Description of Research Expertise
Dr. Nabavizadeh is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a research appointment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the imaging lead of two consortia, CBTN (The Children’s Brain Tumor Network) and PNOC (The Pacific Pediatric Neuro-oncology Consortium) respectively dedicated to biospecimen-driven data generation and precision medicine clinical trials. Dr. Nabavizadeh’s research focuses on multimodality imaging using structural and physiologic MRI imaging with additional PET probes and molecular imaging techniques to better understand the complex nature of brain tumor microenvironment. Dr. Nabavizadeh is the associate editor for the brain tumor section at the American Journal of Neuroradiology and has more than 140 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, JAMA Neurology, Clinical Cancer Research, Neuro-Oncology, Radiology, and Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He has served as the principal investigator of multiple prospective imaging trials including investigator-initiated trials and industry-sponsored FDA registry trials.Selected Publications
