Description of Clinical Expertise

Dr. Kumar cares for patients at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Main Campus, as well as the CHOP Ambulatory Specialty Centers at King of Prussia, Brandywine and Exton. She specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus for adults and children, and has a focus in retinopathy of prematurity, and pediatric cornea/anterior segment disease.

Description of Research Expertise

Dr. Kumar has research expertise in the study of strabismus, including clinical work on the surgical management of nystagmus and associated head posture. She has broad interests in the areas of quality improvement and public health, and has ongoing projects evaluating strategies to minimize healthcare-associated exposure keratopathy, as well as improve referral practices for patients diagnosed with congenital cataracts.
