Description of Clinical Expertise

I am the director of the orthopaedic robotics and navigation program at the University of Pennsylvania and consider myself and expert in the field. During my tenure, I have grown the program from 0% robotic volume to over 30% of all arthroplasty cases in just under a 3 year period. We have increased our complement of platforms from 0 robotic systems to 3 Stryker MAKO Robotic Platform, 1 Zimmer ROSA Robotic Platform, and a Depuy Velys Navigation System through aggressive negotiation with vendors. My plan is to continue to grow this program with the ultimate goal of becoming a national training site for interested surgeons and trainees. We are currently negotiating for two additional MAKO platforms.

As part of my mission to grow and promote our program, I have also revamped the robotic home page and created educational resources/videos for patients and referring providers. Link to our new robotic home pages with videos is included below.

Going forward, my goal is to build a system by which patients interested in orthopaedic surgery with advanced technology can be directly scheduled onto a surgeon's schedule increasing patient access and surgical volume for the department.
