Description of Clinical Expertise

I have an expertise in clinical operations in primary care. I serve as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations for the Department of Family Medicine, where I help oversee two faculty practices, an inpatient adult hospital service, a labor/delivery and post partum service, along with multiple clinical directors providing expanded scope primary care for unique populations in the city. I formerly served as Medical Director of Penn Family Care, a large academic primary care practice in West Philadelphia serving over 22,000 active patients. Responsibilities included scheduling and oversight of 27 residents, 4 nurse practitioners, and over 30 faculty physicians. I am also responsible for integrating and expanding clinical niches within full spectrum primary care, and improving workflows to maintain high quality care. I have a particular clinical interest in gynecologic procedures and have expertise in reproductive health focusing on LARC insertion and removal, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, miscarriage/early pregnancy management.

Description of Research Expertise

I am using a quality and practice improvement framework to more formally assess work flow changes for team-based InBasket management in the primary care setting.
