Description of Research Expertise
The Wiers Lab at Penn focuses on cognitive and neurobiological processes involved in alcohol use disorder (AUD) using PET and MRI neuroimaging. We currently investigate the effects of metabolic ketosis on brain energetics and alcohol consumption in AUD (funded by an NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence and NARSAD Young investigator grant).We are a newly formed group and are recruiting motivated students and postdocs.
