Description of Research Expertise

My interests are pharmacomechanical and electromechanical coupling in airway smooth muscle, phosphoinositide metabolism and generation of second messengers, processing of neural inputs to airway smooth muscle and energy metabolism in vascular smooth muscle. Smooth muscle and neurons innervating smooth muscle are being studied using a combination of electrophysiological and tracer techniques, skinned smooth muscle and lipid biochemical technology.
