Discover DBT Workshop and Consultation Series
Discover DBT: Practical Tools to Integrate into Everyday Practice
A Skills Workshop Series for Clinicians led by Hannah Sonnier, MS, LCSW
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive, evidence-based model of care that reframes emotional dysregulation as a matter of skillfulness rather than inherent ability. While Comprehensive DBT is typically associated with high-risk and complex patients, DBT skills training as a standalone intervention has been shown to benefit a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal challenges.
This quarterly workshop series offers clinicians at any level of experience to learn and apply DBT skills as presented in the Linehan skills group training guide. Whether you are new to DBT or looking to integrate specific skills into your existing practice, each 4-hour workshop will offer concrete, practical strategies to add to your clinical toolkit.
Workshops will include didactic presentations, experiential exercises, and breakout sessions to promote understanding, practice, and confidence.
Who Should Attend:
Medical and mental health professionals at all levels of experience who are curious about DBT and want to incorporate skills into their clinical work and personal wellbeing.

Hannah Sonnier, MS, LCSW (she/her or they/them) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received their MSW at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice in 2019 and their Master’s in Medical Sciences from the University of Kentucky in 2016.
b67Hannah received intensive training and supervision in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Linehan Board Certified clinicians and is a member of the OPC DBT consultation team. They have provided DBT and DBT-informed therapy to support high-risk adolescents and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings to develop and strengthen distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skill sets. They are passionate about helping patients build lives worth living regardless of diagnosis, trauma history, or systemic barriers. They believe in providing evidenced-based interventions that meet patients where they are at and promote self-directed growth, lasting behavioral change, and a strengthened trust in yourself and your abilities.
In January 2024, Hannah co-led a workshop with Dr. Lily Assaad titled “Approaching Borderline Personality Disorder in Treatment: How to Shift Your Perspective and Apply Evidence-Based Interventions.” This new workshop series highlights their desire to increase accessibility to DBT concepts and skills to improve patient outcomes across all scopes of practice.
