Current Accreditation Status
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania received full accreditation in 2024 from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) with a follow-up review in 2026.
At the end of their medical education, students are certified as having completed their requirements for the medical degree, and that information is used for them to obtain a license to work as residents under supervision by a licensed physician in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

A complaint about the LCME itself, LCME practices and standards, or the conduct of an LCME accreditation survey must be sent to the LCME Co-Secretaries, Drs. Barzansky and Catanese, and emailed to lcme@aamc.org.
