Environmental Factors & Sleep

Our work in sleep research focuses not only on the effects of sleep loss in a controlled laboratory setting, but also in how our real-world environments can impact our sleep and behavioral health. Our research has shown that factors such as exposure to nighttime noise, carbon dioxide levels, proximity to urban greenery, and even the position of one's bed and head can impair sleep efficiency, cognitive function and decision-making.
