At Your Visit With One of Our Lead WS Physicians
At our clinic, the lead Williams syndrome (WS) physician plays a pivotal role in guiding patient care. Depending on your age, you will see Dr. Matthew Demczko at CHOP or Dr. Mersedeh Rohanizadegan at Penn. While they typically see patients once a year or every other year, they are always available to address any questions or concerns that arise. In addition to supporting you, our lead WS physician serves as a valuable resource for local providers who may have questions or need assistance in managing care for someone with Williams syndrome.
During your appointment, you will also have the opportunity to meet with our Genetic Counselor and/or a Nurse Practitioner. Your visit will include a comprehensive review of medical and family history, a physical examination, and a discussion of any concerns you and your parents/caregivers might have. Please plan for your appointment to last 1 to 1.5 hours.
