This year’s awardee was Paras Minhas, PhD, Stanford University School of Medicine, in recognition of his 2021 paper, "Restoring metabolism of myeloid cells reverses cognitive decline in ageing," published in Nature.

Much of Dr. Minhas’ work focuses on studying how macrophages and microglia can be metabolically reprogrammed to elicit healthy responses in the context of neuroinflammatory diseases. His full lecture “Metabolic Reprogramming on Innate Immune Cells Reverses Cognitive Decline in Aging” is available to view here.
