Description of Clinical Expertise

Neonatal critical care
Neonatal gastrointestinal tract
Neonatal inflammatory disorders
Clinical effects of early life host-microbiota in the intestine

Description of Research Expertise

Our team studies how early-life host-environment interactions, especially those involving diet and microbiota, affect the intestine under normal conditions, and how disturbances in these processes can contribute to intestinal inflammatory conditions like necrotizing enterocolitis and inflammatory bowel disease and systemic inflammatory diseases such as obesity.

Key research themes encompass:
- Immune System Development and Function in Host Homeostasis
- Precision Immunology and Measuring Immune Health
- Mucosal Immunology
