Training for Scientists

All Faculty, clinical research coordinators, clinical research project managers, and other staff including but not limited to residents, fellows, research assistant, student workers, temporary and contracted hires who are involved in the conduct of human subject’s research at Penn are required to complete training specified in SOP 401.

IMPORTANT! Penn Medicine uses two Learning Management Systems (LMS), Workday Learning (WDL) (University) and Knowledge Link (KL) (UPHS). With the exception of PennChart and HIPAA training, all research training lives in WDL.

UPHS employees must gain access to WDL through a unique permissions process. Submit a Solutions Center ticket, indicating “Learning Support” as the ticket category and the WDL training you need.

For University employees to complete PennChart and HIPAA trianing, you need to obtain access to Knowledge Link (these are called dual users). To gain access, your designated administrator with "Lawson Manager" access must serve as the UPHS Sponsor. This is a two-step process.
