Clinical & Behavioral Health Program
At the Armellino Center of Excellence for Williams Syndrome, we provide medical and behavioral health services for individuals of all ages. Whether you live down the street or across the country, our team will work with you to ensure there is a cohesive care plan from your medical and behavioral health providers and the support needed to help you implement recommendations.
Pediatric Program
The ACE-WS Pediatric Program consists of medical and behavioral health services with an expansive network of providers with expertise in Williams syndrome. In order to accommodate each individual's scheduling needs, we offer ongoing or consultative medical and behavioral health services as either:
- Single visits- Single visits are great for both new and established patients who are local to the Philadelphia area, can easily get to our center, and are looking to establish care with our providers. Single visits might also work for those who already follow with specialists but would like a consultation or second opinion evaluation with one of our providers who specialize in Williams syndrome.
- Coordinated care visits- Coordinated care visits are beneficial for families traveling to our center from out of town and may require you to stay overnight. Coordinated care involves an appointment with one of our lead WS physicians and one or more additional physicians on the same day or over multiple days, depending on the length of your stay.
- Multidisciplinary visits-The focus of multidisciplinary visits are collaborative and cohesive services that occur on the same day and in the same location over the course of 3-4 hours. Multidisciplinary scheduling involves appointments with our lead WS physician, cardiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychology. Specialists will cycle in and out of your room for 1-hour appointments.
Consultative medical and behavioral health services involve an evaluation with our providers who specialize in Williams syndrome. During your visit, our providers will perform an assessment and provide recommendations and support to your local providers. At this time, all new patients are required to come for in-person visits.
We know it is extremely time-consuming to coordinate visits, so we are here to help. If you don't know what scheduling option is right for you, give us a call at 888-722-3497 and we can talk through it!
Transition to Adulthood Program: FLIGHT-WS (Fostering Life Independence and Growth for Healthy Transitions-WS)
ACE-WS is committed to helping patients and their families through life’s major transitions. Transition to adulthood is one of those times. We provide a comprehensive medical and psychosocial transition plan to support your child and your family as they enter this new stage of their life. Through our FLIGHT-WS research program, our team conducts neuropsychological assessments to determine the most effective supports and services for your child. We then assist families in accessing these resources to ensure they receive the best possible care.
Adult Multidisciplinary and Coordinated Care Program
As an adult, it can be challenging to find medical providers who are well versed in Williams syndrome. That is why building a team of trusted experts has been a top priority for us at ACE-WS. We provide coordinated medical and behavioral health care for adults with WS that harnesses the talents of our expert providers across the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Our team will work with you to ensure there is a cohesive care plan from your medical and behavioral health providers and the support needed to help you implement recommendations.
