Follow-up on 3/15 University communication

03/15/22

Dear Colleagues,

Earlier today the University announced significant changes to our campus protocols, notably around masking.  I write to clarify guidance for our PSOM community with the following considerations:

  • Masking is now optional in our research spaces.
  • As noted in the announcement, masking continues to be required in clinical spaces.  Please be mindful of any areas where you may be in close contact with patients, many of whom may be immuno-compromised.
  • In accordance with the University guidance, masking continues to be required in our classrooms and the Jordan Medical Education Center until March 28.  This requirement applies to academic and research meetings of more than 20 people in our classrooms and conference rooms as well as seminars in our auditoria.

We will continue to watch the situation closely and are prepared to amend as needed.

I remain grateful for the respect and support you continue to show one another, understanding that many in our community – for reasons spoken or unspoken – may continue to proceed with caution as restrictions lift around us.  Thank you for allowing our colleagues, patients, and visitors the flexibility to feel safe in all of our spaces.

Be well,

Jon
