PhD, 2021, CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, India

M.Sc. (Biochemistry), 2014, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India

B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry, 2012, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India

Research Interests:

Narayan’s research interest is primarily focused on development of novel strategies for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s (AD) and other neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, he is exploring the potential of ketogenic diets in alleviation of AD related pathologies. Currently he is leading following projects:

1) Investigation of age dependent and tauopathy induced changes in the level of regional cerebral glutamate and myo-Inositol in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) using glutamate CEST (GluCEST), myo-Inositol CEST (MICEST) MRI respectively, followed by the validation of findings via localized in vivo 1H-MRS and immunohistochemical studies.

2) Development of novel strategies for the assessment of cerebral metabolism and neuronal activity through administration of 2H-labelled energy substrates followed by 2H-MRS/I.
