Lab Clearing Toolkit

The Perelman School of Medicine is committed to providing faculty researchers with space appropriate to their needs; we support Departments, Centers, Institutes and Principal Investigators in the maintenance of safe, productive, clean and compliant labs.

To ensure effective use of our valuable space resources, PSOM is pleased to provide this lab clear-out process tool, which includes:

• Process: Overview of process for lab maintenance, lab clearing and lab transitions;
• Disposal/Removal: Notes, contacts and resources to inform complex and nuanced disposal and removal processes;
• Project Plan: A detailed project plan and timeline to assist faculty and staff in facilitating lab maintenance, clearing or transition; and
• Best Practices: Tips to maintain safe, productive, clean and compliant labs.

Apply to the Penn Sustainability Green Fund : The Penn Sustainability Green Fund supports students, staff, and faculty pursuing innovative ways to advance Penn's sustainability efforts.  Applications are reviewed monthly with awards up to $30,000. Green Fund Flyer
