Self Service Histology
Self-service projects are those performed by users, using equipment available in the core.
Self-Service Equipment
- Paraffin microtomes
- Cryostat microtomes
- Plastics microtome
- Paraffin embedding station
- Microscopes
- Histomorphometry workstation
Consumables
The core provides:
- Cassettes
- Paraffin wax
- Cryofilm (additional fee applies)
- Slide boxes (additional fee applies)
Users must provide their own blades and slides.
Training
The following pieces of equipment require training for new users:
- Paraffin microtomes
- Cryostat microtome (with optional cryofilm)
- Plastics microtome
- Histomorphometry workstation
During the pandemic, all training will be conducted virtually. If you are interested in receiving training, please contact Dr Tang. He will email you a link to the training video. After watching the video, email Dr Tang to arrange a phone call to review key training aspects, including safety. Note that standard training fees still apply.
