Location

The PCMD Histology Core is located on the third floor of Stemmler Hall, lab bays 344B and 345B, within the McKay Orthopaedic Research Laboratory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Equipment

The core is comprehensively equipped for all aspects of musculoskeletal histology. Major equipment includes:

A Polycut plastics microtome
B Upright fluorescence and bright field microscopes equipped with high resolution digital cameras and image analysis software (x2)
C Double-headed teaching microscope
D Paraffin embedding station
E Histomorphometry workstation equipped with Bioquant software
F Automated paraffin tissue processor
G Cryostat microtomes (x3)
H Fume hoods for staining and plastic embedding (x2)
