The GROUP Program (Group Review of Utilization of PE) for CBH Providers

Introducing the GROUP Program: A New Pathway to PE Certification
The GROUP Program (Group Review of Utilization of PE) is an innovative and accessible way for clinicians across the CBH network to become certified in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, the gold‑standard of treatment for PTSD.
Whether you're a clinician looking to grow your skills or a leader aiming to strengthen trauma‑informed services within your organization, the GROUP Program offers a streamlined, supportive pathway into one of the most effective treatments for trauma-related PTSD symptoms.
Free Training. Free Consultation. CE Credits Included.
The GROUP Program offers clinicians across the CBH network a completely free opportunity to receive high‑quality training and consultation in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy. All workshops and consultation groups are provided at no cost to participants, and continuing education (CE) credits are awarded for eligible trainings—including the 4‑Day Intensive PE Workshop and additional PE Initiative events. This means you can build specialized trauma‑treatment skills, earn CE credits, and receive expert support—without any financial barriers.
Become a Certified PE Therapist Through the GROUP Program
A new, flexible, and supportive pathway for clinicians across the CBH network.
If you’re a clinician who wants to build stronger trauma‑treatment skills, deliver evidence‑based care, and join a citywide community of providers trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, the GROUP Program was designed with you in mind.
The GROUP Program offers a new, accessible way to become certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy. Through small‑group consultation, hands‑on training, and high‑quality support, you can earn PE certification while connecting with clinicians from across Philadelphia who share your commitment to trauma-focused care.
Why Join the GROUP Program?
A Supportive Learning Environment
You’ll train alongside a small cohort of clinicians who will grow, learn, problem-solve, and build skills together.
Expert Guidance Every Step of the Way
Your group will be led by Roz Brumfield, an expert PE Consultant from the CTSA with over 15 tears of experience providing supportive and constructive feedback, case consultation, and mentorship as you complete your PE cases.
A More Flexible, Accessible Pathway
Because the GROUP Program does not require a team of clinicians from any single agency, it reduces agency burden and makes PE certification more attainable for motivated clinicians.
Evidence-Based Skills that Change Lives
PE Therapy is recognized as a gold‑standard treatment for PTSD. By becoming certified, you’ll expand your clinical toolkit and be able to offer a highly effective intervention to clients who need it most.
Join a Citywide Trauma Treatment Community
GROUP clinicians become part of the larger PE Initiative—gaining access to ongoing workshops, case conferences, special-topic trainings, and a network of trauma-focused providers across the CBH system.
How the Program Works
1. Apply to Join
Clinicians from across the CBH network can apply individually—no agency nomination required.

Selected applicants will be invited to join the new GROUP cohort by April 20, 2026.
2. Attend the 4‑Day Intensive PE Workshop
Selected participants will receive comprehensive training in Prolonged Exposure, including skills practice, protocol guidance, and hands-on learning. Trainings will take place virtually via Zoom on:

Full attendance for all 5 days of training is required - no exceptions can be made.

- Review potential cases
- Share and discuss session videos
- Troubleshoot challenges
- Build confidence with PE skills
- Support your peers in their growth
4. Earn Your Certification
You will complete your first two PE cases within your consultation group. Once completed successfully, you will be certified as a PE therapist and welcomed into the PE Initiative network.
Who Should Apply?
The GROUP Program is open to licensed master’s- and doctoral-level clinicians within the CBH network who are able to provide therapy services to individuals with PTSD symptoms and are willing and able to video record their treatment sessions for group review. Pre-licensed clinicians are also eligible if they are working under the clinical supervision of another licensed mental health professional.
It is a great fit for clinicians who:
