Workshop Description: This workshop will review cognitive behavior therapy for SAD, including adapting interventions to telehealth and with adherence to current social distancing guidelines. Moreover, evidence suggests individuals with SAD often misperceive and underestimate their own social performance, as well as rely on maladaptive safety behaviors in social situations. Therefore, this workshop will focus in particular on the theory, research, and application of video feedback components in the treatment of SAD. This 3 hour workshop is designed to review prominent evidence-based behavioral interventions for delivering video-feedback exposures among individuals with SAD, including video-feedback exposures conducted with telehealth.

CE Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  1. Outline the rationale and best practices for using video feedback for SAD
  2. Discuss when and how to modify video feedback exposure techniques based on individual and environmental factors
  3. Detail strategies for modifying video exposures for social anxiety disorder using telehealth
