Kristen Doran
Kristen Doran, PsyD, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over fifteen years of experience in the field. Kristen's educational background includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from West Chester University (WCU), an American Psychological Association accredited program. Kristen also holds two Master of Science degrees, one in Clinical Psychology and the other in Counseling and Educational Psychology, both obtained from WCU. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University.
Kristen’s specialization in treating anxiety, trauma, and obsessive-compulsive-related disorders stems from two years of training at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA), which she completed during her doctoral studies. Under the guidance of experts in the field, Kristen developed a strong foundation in evidence-based treatments. She specializes in supporting adults facing trauma, obsessive-compulsive, and anxiety-related symptoms, employing therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure therapy (PE), exposure and response prevention therapy (ExRP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to empower individuals on their healing journey.
Presently, Kristen serves as a certified Prolonged Exposure Consultant on The PEACE Project (Prolonged Exposure to Address Community Violence). This initiative aims to establish a sustainable coalition of mental health providers dedicated to treating individuals in Philadelphia who have experienced or witnessed community or gun violence. Kristen's involvement in this project demonstrates her commitment to positively impacting her community by supporting clinicians providing specialized care to those affected by violence.
